Often did the role of a woman switch to that of the
principal oppressor of women, especially in the cases
dominated by a woman possessed by the power of
males and their standards, identifying with her
oppressor, while she herself is weak and oppressed.
“Farha (happiness) is a name that does not identify
with its bearer. She lost her mother at her very young
age and she had to assume the mother’s role at home
with her father and brother. Her aunt, who
sometimes financially supported the family,
controlled their destiny, particularly in important
decisions. She forced Farha to leave school and to
marry a much older man after the disappearance of
her father. When she got married Farha started her
journey with suffering at the hands of her spiteful
husband, her exploiting boss and the unmerciful
talk of the society.”
