A Workshop Entitled:

“From ‘Rainbow of Desire' to ‘Forum theatre' ”

Led by: Barbara Santos

Barbara Santos is a black woman, and a South American mother. She is a Brazilian sociologist, an actress, a Joker and the General Coordinator at the “Centre of the Theatre of the Oppressed”. She has been working with Augusto Boal, dramaturge and creator of the Theatre of the Oppressed (TO), since 1991.

She started acting in 1995, led workshops, and participated in conferences. She has directed forum plays and set up and supervised TO groups in Canada, US, Egypt, UK, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Switzerland, Palestine, France, Denmark, Portugal, Sudan, India, Jordan, Argentina, Spain and Netherlands.

“Rainbow of Desire workshop”

The Theatre of the Oppressed aims at stimulating the search for objective alternatives in tackling socio-political problems through artistic intervention. This theatre method eliminates the conventional barriers that existed between the audience and the artists on stage. It opens up means of direct dialogue on a democratic basis where the audience can suggest and actively participate in the search for a solution of the problem at hand.

This theatre form utilizes a great number of exercises and structural games with varied techniques that aim at the transformation of oppression realities.

The workshop would investigate the means of “The Rainbow of Desire” in its subjective approach to social problems, transform it to an objective approach in “The Forum Theatre” with an aim to understanding its repercussions, and subdue the oppressors.

"الطريق من طيف الرغبة الى مسرح المنبر"

  باربرا سانتوس، امرأة سوداء، وأم جنوب أمريكية. أ خصائية اجتماعية برازيلية،ممثلة وجوكر، والمنسق العام لمركز "مسرح المضطهدين - ريو". عملت مع اوغوستو بوال كدراماتورج، وأخرجت مسرحيات منبرية في مؤسسة مسرح المضطهدين - ريو منذ عام 1991.

في عام 1995 بدأت تمارس مهنة التمثيل وتشرف على ورشات متخصصة في مسرح المضطهدين، وشاركت في العديد من المؤتمرات. أخرجت عدد كبير من المسرحيات المنبرية، و اشرفت على تدريب فرق مسرحية تمارس تقنيات مسرح المضطهدين في عملها في كل من كندا، والولايات المتحدة، ومصر، والمملكة المتحدة، وألمانيا ،وهونغ كونغ، وايطاليا، وسويسرا، وفلسطين، وفرنسا، وبلجيكا، والبرتغال، والسودان، والهند، والأردن، والأرجنتين، وإسبانيا وهولندا.

:ورشة طيف الرغبة

يهدف مسرح المضطهدين إلى الحث على البحث عن البدائل الموضوعية خلال معالجة المشاكل الاجتماعية السياسية من خلال التدخل الفني. هذا الأسلوب المسرحي يلغي الحدود التقليدية التي تقوم بين الجمهور والفنانين فوق الخشبة. وهو يفتح أبوابا من الحوار المباشر على قاعدة ديمقراطية، حيث يقترح الجمهور ويشارك فعليا في البحث عن حلول للمشكلة المطروحة.

هذا الشكل المسرحي يستخدم تدريبات كثيرة وألعابا بنائية بتقنيات متعددة تهدف إلى تحويل حقائق الاضطهاد.

سوف تتفحص الورشة وسائل "طيف الرغبة" في توجهه الذاتي نحو المشاكل الاجتماعية، وتحويلها إلى توجه موضوعي في "مسرح المنبر" بهدف فهم نتائجها وإخضاع المضطَهِدين.
