The Experimental Theatre Women of Sand and Myrrh
Four women’s lives interweave through a limbo of
alienation, sensuousness and cruelty in the Arab
desert, where beauty or intelligence are a trap... and
where each struggles vainly to safeguard their inner
truths from the age-old path of male-imposed order.
In striving to realize individual identities, each of
these four very different women evolve a strategy
for personal survival:
Suha, A middle-eastern woman who is determined
to go back home. Nur, Uses her blatant sexuality
to cover her loneliness. Tamr, Fights for her
right to education. Suzanne, An American
housewife, searching for adventure.
